Sukkat Shalom Cheder pageWelcome to our cheder! The Sukkat Shalom cheder is open to children from P1 up to Bar/Bat Mitzvah who are children of members or associate members of Sukkat Shalom. Due to coronavirus, we have been operating in Zoom but are now looking at having some in-person events. CURRENT GROUPS We have three groups which, on Zoom, meet one after the other over the course of a Saturday afternoon: Kita Alef - kids will listen to stories and create together in these hands-on, interactive sessions. The sessions will focus on holidays and the Jewish calendar. This group is aimed at P1-P3, but pre-schoolers are welcome to join with their parents. Kita Bet - these sessions emphasise Hebrew conversation and literacy, alongside Jewish holidays. This group is aimed at P4-P6, though there is always flexibility. Kita Gimel - is our pre-Bar and Bat Mitzvah group. It will build on learning from previous years, opening participants to a wide range of key topics in Jewish life through stories, history, texts, videos, discussion and practices. DATES Our sessions typically coincide with festivals and the school term. All cheder parents receive notification of dates via email.
We are very keen to send packages to our cheder children, to make our online celebrations more fun and meaningful. A package costs between £5 and £10.
